Our crates of kiln dried logs are incredible value for money. By stacking the kiln dried logs into crates it is possible to get 50% more wood into the same area as loose or bulk bagged loads. Our kiln dried firewood is cut to 25cm lengths and is 100% kiln dried to below 20% moisture content. We also supply bagged/netted kiln dried logs that can be easily carried.
What Types of Firewood Do We Supply?
Alder
A member of the birch family, the alder tree comes in many different species. It makes fantastic firewood and kindling. Providing a really pleasant aroma, kiln dried alder logs are a good choice for solid fuel as they burn well. However, as the tree grows quickly, alder is often not as dense as more popular firewood, although it burns well, nonetheless. Easy to split without mess, thanks to its thin grains, it’s a great choice for kindling when used with firelighters.
Ash
The elegant ash tree has distinctive bark in a beige-grey colour. It’s one of the best species to be used as firewood in a wood burner, as it’s one of the densest hardwood logs, offering good heat output and a steady flame. A kiln dried ash log can burn for around one hour, producing up to 4KW of heat.
Birch
Our native birch tree can grow to 30ft tall, producing hard wood. When used as fuel, it will produce a bright flame and good heat. Thanks to its silver-coloured, flaky bark, the silver birch makes great logs that look ornamental, while creating a sweet aroma as they burn.
Oak
The English oak is a tall, deciduous tree that grows up to 40m tall. It provides hard, strong timber. Oak Firewood burns slowly, with a small flame that assures steady heat. Ideally suited for an open fire.
